Our History and Growth
Founded in 1992 as European Conveyor Systems (ECS) by John Bower, the company began as a specialist manufacturer of conveyor systems, focused on delivering robust and efficient material handling solutions to a growing number of industries. In its first year, ECS quickly gained recognition for its engineering expertise by securing a significant contract in the Middle East - an early indicator of the company’s potential on the international stage.
A landmark project came in 2011 with a multimillion-pound contract to design and install a cutting-edge intralogistics system for a leading electric vehicle manufacturer. This success paved the way for new contracts in Ireland and continued growth.
In 2014, European Conveyor Systems was acquired by GEBHARDT Intralogistics Group, expanding our product portfolio and international reach. We delivered our first automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS) in 2016 and, in 2023, rebranded as GEBHARDT Intralogistics UK to reflect our ongoing commitment to innovation and excellence.
