Case Study: 11teamsports High-Performance Shuttle Warehouse
Project Overview
GEBHARDT designed, implemented and commissioned a high-performance shuttle warehouse for 11teamsports at its new 25,000 m² headquarters in Satteldorf.
We developed goods-to-person workflows to handle high SKU variety, seasonal peaks and omnichannel order structures, enabling throughputs of up to 1,500 containers per hour.
A Holistic Solution Across Different Storage Areas
Aside from just a few manual steps, storage in the automatic shuttle warehouse is fully automatic. During incoming goods processing, a worker takes the goods from the delivery box and places them in the serviced container. At the same time, they scan the goods and the box, whereby the goods are automatically married to the container by the GEBHARDT StoreWare.
Surplus packaging materials are removed immediately via a waste conveyor, and the container is transported to the shuttle warehouse via one of four lifters. In total, around 75,000 containers are handled by 140 OLS shuttle vehicles across four aisles, ensuring high throughput even during seasonal peak loads.
11teamsports has reached a whole new level of efficiency, thanks to the fully automatic shuttle warehouse. The newly achieved transparency is the result of the complete digitalisation of all warehouse processes, enabling real-time monitoring of capacity utilisation in incoming goods and order picking.
With GEBHARDT Galileo Insight, all operational data can be analysed in detail. Congestion points, peak utilisation phases and system bottlenecks can be identified precisely, allowing personnel deployment to be adjusted based on real performance data rather than estimates.
11teamsports can keep a close eye on all system components of the fully automated material flow system, thanks to the digital twinning of their warehouse in the GEBHARDT Galileo IoT® platform.
With the help of continuous condition monitoring and predictive maintenance, operating costs can be reduced while system availability is maximised, particularly during high-volume order periods.

GEBHARDT Realises Fully Automated Shuttle Solution at 11teamsports
The football outfitter and sporting goods retailer 11teamsports has completely reorganised its logistics processes at its headquarters in Satteldorf together with GEBHARDT. We designed and implemented a fully automated shuttle solution based on a one-level strategy, with one shuttle operating on each individual level.
This configuration enables the system to move up to 1,500 containers per hour within the OLS shuttle warehouse, ensuring high and stable throughput even during peak periods of the omnichannel business.
With the implementation of the “goods-to-person” principle, we created a system that supports both B2C online orders and B2B branch supply from the same automated storage environment, providing flexibility for changing order structures and growth dynamics.
