Case Study: New State-of-the-Art Logistics Centre for REISSER AG
Project Overview
The GEBHARDT Intralogistics Group realized an ultra-modern central warehouse for the renowned specialist dealer for bathroom equipment, installation and heating technology REISSER at the Böblingen headquarters for the delivery capability of all branches and the various warehouses. The goal was to implement a sustainable intralogistics solution that would optimally support the company in its further growth, especially as a partner between industry and trade.
A Holistic Solution Across Different Storage Areas
In two construction phases and over 2.5 years from planning to initial operation, a multi-storey building with various storage areas was constructed on a total area of 38,000 m². The entire logistics process and warehousing in Böblingen is divided into the automatic small parts warehouse, the automatic combs cassette warehouse and further storage areas such as a cantilever arm and pallet high-bay warehouse including the connecting conveyor technology and the corresponding workstations.
Thanks to the integrated digital networking, the process quality of the ultra-modern and customer-oriented logistics and the delivery quality have improved enormously.
The centre of the intralogistics solution is the automatic small parts warehouse, a GEBHARDT StoreBiter® One-Level-Shuttle warehouse (OLS), in which two-thirds of the total articles are stored, from the fitting to the sealing ring to the angle valve.
