Warehouse receiving follows a structured process to ensure that incoming goods are accurately identified and prepared for storage or further processing.

Goods are first unloaded from vehicles and moved to receiving areas, where they are inspected and verified against order data. Identification technologies such as barcode scanners or RFID are used to capture information and link items to the warehouse management system.

Based on this data, goods are either directed to storage locations, prepared for internal processes or transferred to downstream operations. In manual environments, these tasks are performed by employees. In automated environments, conveyor systems and integrated technologies support the movement, identification and routing of goods.

Goods are unloaded using telescopic belt conveyors, which can extend into the vehicle and adapt to different load volumes. Cartons are then transported to receiving workstations, where they are inspected and routed.

By integrating weighing, scanning and measuring systems (Track & Trace), cartons can be automatically identified and processed. This enables direct routing to storage or downstream processes without the need for additional handling units.

Repacking into containers - manual empty container supply

This solution is used when incoming goods need to be unpacked and transferred into standardised containers.

Empty containers are supplied on pallets, typically from adjacent warehouse areas. Employees unpack goods, inspect them and assign them to containers using hand-held scanners, which also register the items in the system.

Filled containers are buffered on accumulating conveyors before being transported to the next process step. Carton waste is collected separately via trolleys or optional waste conveyors.

Repacking into containers - automatic empty container supply

For higher volumes, empty containers can be supplied automatically via an integrated conveyor system.

Containers in different sizes are provided through dedicated tracks, allowing employees to select the appropriate container for each product. After inspection and scanning, goods are packed and transferred directly onto the conveyor system.

This reduces manual handling and ensures a continuous material flow from receiving to storage or picking areas.

Packet service integration

This solution is designed for handling goods delivered by parcel service providers.

Packages are transferred onto a conveyor system at a dedicated receiving area and transported to workstations. There, they are buffered, unpacked and processed before being moved to storage.
